How do I set up the camera for the first time?

  • Charge the camera fully before use: connect the supplied USB-C cable to a standard 5 V / 1 A USB charger (not included). The charge indicator LED (small hole next to the USB-C port) lights orange while charging and turns green when complete (~2–3 hours).
  • Download the Protect by STRONG app (iOS: App Store / Android: Google Play) and create a free account. Verify your email address via the confirmation link.
  • Grant all requested permissions when prompted: Notifications (critical — without this you receive no alerts), Microphone (required for intercom), Bluetooth and Location (required during pairing only).
  • In the app, tap + or Add Device. Power on the camera (hold the POWER button). Hold the RESET button for 5 seconds until the status LED blinks red — pairing mode is active.
  • Select your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password. The app then displays a QR code on your phone screen — point the camera lens towards it at 15–25 cm. The camera plays a confirmation sound when it has read the code. Tap Next immediately.
  • Wait 30 seconds to 2 minutes for ‘Connection successful’ to appear.

Warning: The DOVY supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi ONLY. It will NOT connect to 5 GHz networks. SSID and password must each be 24 characters or fewer.

Tips: The app may also appear under the name ‘CloudEdge’ — this is the same application. A microSD card and a power adapter are NOT included in the box.
